Art’s Pretty Lady goes five for five at Rosecroft

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Continuing to score in the top level $6,000 Open pace for fillies and mares, Art’s Pretty Lady [$3.40, $2.60, $3.00] simply dominated the field, winning by over four lengths in 1:54.0 at Rosecroft Raceway on Friday evening.

Driven by Frank Milby for trainer Connie Kamit, the five-year-old Arturo mare grabbed the lead off of the gate with an opening fraction of 27.0. Milby held a commanding lead with the mare, taking the field through quarters of 57.2 and 1:26.0, finishing with a last tick of 28.0. Susan Chytla and Nicholas Kamit co-own Art’s Pretty Lady.

Funny Lil Grin [$3.80, $4.80] took second place honors with Wayne Long at her lines. The seven-year-old Grinfromeartoear mare, trained and owned by Freddy Darby, sat in the pocket through the mile at 9/1 odds.

Gen-U-Wine Raider [$5.00], parked out at the opening quarter, finished third at 13/1 odds with Kelly Staten in the bike. The seven-year-old Keystone Raider mare made up ground in the stretch with a 28.3 last quarter. Thomas Swann trains for owners Julie and Lois Swann.

The trifecta paid $96.00.
