DOVER, DE — Aint No Misfit and the sport’s leading dash win driver in 2008, Tony Morgan added five wins to his credit including Kattimon winner along with Aint No Misfit in the $19,200 Delaware 4&5-Year-Old Mare twin-feature paces at Dover Downs on Saturday, March 22.

Kattimon annexed her third win in a row and fourth in the last five for Mike and Lisa Hill and Green Racing Inc., as Tony Morgan steered the Astreos four-year-old to victory in 1:55.3 in one of the $19,200 co-feature events. Florist (Ben Stafford) came on to finish second with Thevoodoothatyoudo (Vic Kirby) taking the show money.

Roger Plante, who had three winning drives, took Mike Gannon’s Aint No Misfit right to the front and led every step to a 1:55 score in the first of the $19,200 co-features. On State Sizzle (Eddie Davis Jr.) was second all the way, Goodlands Patty (Brandon Gives) took third.

Adam Zawick’s 19-1 Marathon Hall came thundering down the lane for Sean Bier to score a 1:54.4 victory in a $20,000 Claiming Allowance. Sam’s Clever Boy (Ross Wolfenden), an even longer 56-1, was second with 20-1 On His Way (Ed Nickle) third.

Charles Veneziale’s Napoleon Andrup was strongest in the stretch in a 1:57 triumph in the first of two $11,000 feature trots. Kim Vincent drove the gelding to his first win of the year. CC’s Glide-On-Bye (Joe Columbo) was runner-up. Tom Bruce (Jim Morand) led early and settled for third place.

Valdez closed with a rush for Tom Clendining to overtake leader Beau Windswept (Corey Callahan) in the final stride for a 1:57.3 win. Marvin Meyer owns the Dream Vacation gelding winner of an $11,000 feature trot. Star Lite Stinger (Vic Kirby) was third.

Guzinthite started a three-straight streak for Tony Morgan in the $10,700 Delaware trot. Charlotte Startt owns the nine-year-old gelding making his first trip to the winner’s circle this year after a 1:59.4 mile. LaSpur (Ross Wolfenden) was second with Hay Nugget (George Dennis) the show finisher.

Roland Wainwright’s Flea Market took Roger Plante to the winner’s circle for the second time after a 1:53.4 victory. Sea Man (Corey Callahan) was a gritty second in front of Beavercreek Harley (Brandon Givens).

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – In spite of being parked out the entire mile, Mattjestic Art [$18.80, $7.20, $4.80] managed to win a featured pace worth $4,200 at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday.

Driven off of the gate from post position seven by Frank Milby, the seven-year-old Artiscape gelding battled contenders along the outside through fractions of 27.1 57.2 and 1:26.3. Trained by Alvin Callahan for Marvin Callahan, Mattjestic Art proved he had heart, winning by half of a length in 1:56.1 at 8/1 odds.

Betting choice Weiss Hanover [$4.20, $3.20] was parked to the quarter pole but managed to retake the lead before the half. Trained and driven by Donnie Russell for owner Edward Needle, the six-year-old son of Western Hanover closed well with a 29.3 last quarter to finish second.

Instigator [$7.60] finished out the $177.40 trifecta after sitting behind Weiss Hanover through much of the mile. Driven by Chris Offutt for trainer ‘Bib’ Roberts, the eight-year-old Presidential Ball gelding went off at 18/1 odds by post time. Instigator races for the Graham Grace Stables LLC.

After finishing second last week to Elaine T Cronos in 1:55.1, Weiss Hanover will open on the board as the 5/2 morning line favorite in a Winner’s Over pace at Rosecroft Raceway, tonight, Saturday March 22^nd.

Cutting the mile last week with trainer Donnie Russell in the sulky, the six-year-old Western Hanover horse faltered at the wire to miss by a mere half of a length. However, the horse has been extremely consistent in each of his miles recently, hitting the board five of his last six starts in upper level classes. Russell will again be in the sulky and the pair will start from post position six. Edward Needle owns the winner of over $237,000 lifetime.

Mattjestic Art returns from Dover Downs after a sick scratch on March 17^th and will start from post position seven at 7/2 early odds. Frank Milby will be aboard for the drive on the seven-year-old Artiscape gelding. On March 5^th, the trainee of Alvin Callahan qualified at Dover in 1:55.4 with a last quarter of 28.1. Marvin Callahan owns Mattjestic Art.

From the rail, Perfect Magic may be a contender at 5/1 odds in the program. Trained by Roger Hans for owner Tom Cooke, the five-year-old Bettor’s Delight horse was third at the Meadowlands on March 16^th in 1:55.0 with a final tick of 26.4. Corey Braden will drive the horse away from the gate.

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Four Starz Robro [$4.40, $3.20, $2.10] went gate-to-wire in the $6,000 Open Trot at Rosecroft Raceway on Friday as the even-money choice for owner Kelley Rogers.

Rated perfectly through the mile by driver Corey Braden, the six-year-old Conway Hall horse led the field through quarters of 28.3, 58.3 and 1:28.2 to win by a neck in 1:57.3. Trained by Judy Welty, the sharp horse notched his first victory of 2008 after coming off of a winning qualifier. Four Starz Robro upped his lifetime earnings to over $237,000 with this win.

Chippewa Warrior [$11.60, $4.00] finished second as one of the longest shots in the race at 16/1 odds. The eight-year-old Veeba Rova gelding, driven by Frank Milby, sat in third along the rail before gaining ground in the stretch with a 28.3 last quarter. Roger Hans trains the gelding for owner Tom Cooke.

Celtic Hall [$2.60] finished third with trainer Donnie Russell in the bike. The seven-year-old Garland Lobell gelding, co-owned by Russell and Edward Needle, worked out a pocket trip to hit the board in the $99.80 trifecta.

Gen-U-Wine Raider [$16.80, $7.60, $3.20] paced first-over to victory in the $6,000 Open event for fillies and mares on Friday, winning in a swift 1:54.3 for the Swann connections.

Driven by Kelly Staten from post position five, the seven-year-old daughter of Keystone Raider sat contently in third through opening fractions of 26.0 and 55.1. Staten took the mare out before the three-quarter pole in 1:24.1 to outdrive the competition. The mare, trained by Thomas Swann for owners Julie and Lois, won by half of a length at 7/1 odds.

Sweet Noc [$9.20, 6.60], overlooked at 12/1 odds, finished second after making up nearly seven lengths through the back half of the mile. Driven aggressively by Frank Milby for trainer Gregg White, the six-year-old J B Stena mare closed down the stretch in 29.3. Jamie Morgan owns the mare.

High Speed Racer [$2.20] was third after following Gen-U-Wine Raider with a second-over trip. Guided by driver Corey Braden through the mile, the four-year-old daughter of Nuclear High finished a length and a half behind the winner. Roger Hans trains the mare for owner Tom Cooke.

The trifecta paid $419.00.

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Four Starz Robro has returned to Rosecroft Raceway to dominate the $6,000 Open trot as the 8/5 morning line favorite on Friday evening.

Trained by Judith Welty for owner Kelley Rogers, the six-year-old Conway Hall horse recently qualified over the Maryland oval, trotting wire-to-wire without competition in an easy 1:59.4. With over $234,000 in his bankroll, Four Starz Robro will make his 2008 debut in this mile. Corey Braden will drive the talented horse away from the gate in post position three against five other contenders.

Celtic Hall is another to consider at 7/2 odds after racing in the top level trots at the Meadows. Trained and driven by Donnie Russell, the seven-year-old Garland Lobell gelding was a bit overmatched in those classes but should fare well against these. Russell co-owns the winner of over $211,000 lifetime with Edward Needle.

Other competitors include Four Starz Eye Van (Jackie MacLeok, 5/1), Mountain Breez (Chris Offutt, 5/1), SJ’s Warrior (Joe Offutt, 6/1) and Chippewa Warrior (Frank Milby, 6/1).

The fillies and mares Open pace worth $6,000 will be contested in the first race on the card. High Speed Racer is the early 5/2 morning line choice from post position two for owner Tom Cooke. Trained by Roger Hans, the four-year-old Nuclear High mare has been consistent at this level, pacing in 1:55.1 her last time out. Corey Braden will drive the mare.

DOVER, DE — BJ’s Braveheart got back into the winning ledger scoring a convincing 1:53.3 victory in the $19,200 Delaware 4&5-Year-Old pace at Dover Downs on Thursday, March 20. Tim Tetrick had a four bagger.

With Brandon Givens in the bike, BJ’s Braveheart proved much the best romping in a lifetime record 1:53.3 performance for owners Robin and Nicole Callahan. Public choice Pilgrims Burner (Tony Morgan) had to settle for second. Stacy’s Character (Bryan Truitt) was the third place finisher.

Veteran Game Speed, a nine-year-old daughter of the late Program Speed, was in winning form for Corey Callahan scoring a 1:58 triumph in the first $14,000 co-feature trot. Corey Callahan drove the winner to her second success this year. Fivedollarsforsox (George Dennis) was runner-up. Bullville sue (Tim Curtin) finished third.

In the second $14,000 trot, At Brewer’s Renegade Dream sat alongside race favorite Passito (Tim Tetrick) from mid backstretch until deep in the stretch before getting up for a 1:57.2 victory. Rattlesnake Jake (George Dennis) had a perfect trip behind the battling leaders and finished a close-up third.

Trevor Stafford’s Blissfull Silence won an $11,500 Male pace with Tony Morgan at the controls in 1:54. Macbeth Blue Chip (Brandon Givens) and Lekrem Bluegrass (Mike Cole) were second and third respectively.

Gary and Barbara Iles’ homebred Frog Juice with Tim Tetrick driving prepped for next week’s star of the DSBF sophomore stakes by overpowering seven rivals in 1:54.1 to win a $10,200 Delaware 3,4&5-Year-Old Male pace. Fleetmaster (Tony Morgan), another son of Badlands Hanover finished second. Capture The Dream (Jonathan Roberts) was third.

Elmer Fannin’s Three Olives-sired Night Trouble teamed with Jim Morand to hold off Badlands Jaden (Tim Tetrick) for a 1:55.1 success in a $10,00 DSBF Three-Year-Old Colt pace tune-up. Monahans Magix (Corey Callahan) was a game third.

In addition to Tim Tetrick’s four wins, Tony Morgan and Corey Callahan had driving doubles.

DOVER, DE — Eric Goodell steered Nidya A, overlooked at 12-1, to one of his five wins taking the $32,000 Mares Open at Dover Downs on Tuesday, March 18. Fionavar Hanover won the sub-feature $25,000 Mares Winners-Over while Ball Gown A won the $23,000 distaff division.

Eric Goodell found room along the passing lane to outstep leader Ultimate Bet and Sean Bier to the finish line in 1:52.2 to take the week’s top distaff event. It was Goodell’s third of a four-win night. Paul McDougall Racing and WJ McDougall Racing own the Down Under-bred daughter of Albert Albert. Ultimate Bet held on for second. Ireneonthemove, driven by Tony Morgan, took the show spot. Nidya A won for the second time this year with three seconds and three thirds in 10 races. She has now banked $62,550 in 2008.

Fionarvar Hanover, a race favorite in her previous two races, came on strongly at 6-1 for Corey Callahan’s third win of the night, to score a 1:53.1 win in a $25,000 distaff pace. It was the third win of the year for The Panderosa five-year-old owned by Sylvia Burke, Frank Baldachino and Howard Taylor. Tug River Aussie closed well for Jonathan Roberts to finish second. Lockes Of Love and Tony Morgan were third.

Ball Gown A notched her first win of the year in his second appearance as Eric Goodell guided the Presidential Ball seven-year-old to victory in 1:53.4 to win a $23,000 Mares Winners-Over pace. Flirtwithedealer took second with Tony Morgan. Millwood Ashley N, piloted by Brandon Givens was the third finisher.

Tony Morgan steered Constance Moore and Green Racing’s Honeyland to victory in 1:54.1 edging sharp Mapua Magic (Tim Tetrick) in a 1:54.1 photo to win a $16,500 Mares pace. Camturo (Eric Goodell) was the show finisher.

In a second $16,500 division, Eric Goodell teamed with Debbie Avery’s Play At Wynn for a 1:54.1 triumph, her third victory of the season. Unn (Kevin Sizer) cut out the early pace and held on for second. Nono Yezz Rusty (Ross Wolfenden) took third honors.

Two heads separated the first three finishers as Eric Goodell completed a five-win performance driving Adam Friedland’s Witch Trials to a 1:54.2 victory in a $14,500 Mares pace. Besmitten By A Vet (Tim Curtin) led from the start until the final strides. In The Mist N (Frank Milby) close along the passing lane for third.

In an $11,000 Mares pace, Rich and Pat Arndt’s Rafaella Seelster breezed to an early huge lead and waltzed home a 1:54 winner for meet-leading driver Tony Morgan. Gangsta Lady (Kevin Sizer) was 5-lengths back in second with Kim Crawford N (Frank Milby) the third finisher.

Cosmo Madness, one of Corey Callahan driving triple, scored her fourth win in a row racking up a 1:54.4 victory in a $10,000 4&5-Year-Old Mares pace. Trainer Deweese and Emma Butler owned the Three Olives sophomore. Emma Rose Ben (Tony Morgan) and Blissfull Lil (Joe Sullivan) were second and third.

DOVER, DE — Immortal Quest wins $40,000 Handicap again, Mr. Apples romped in the $37,500 Delaware Special while Richard Henry N had just enough to win the $28,000 Jr. Open, the St. Patrick’s day headliners, at Dover Downs on Monday, March 17.

In the week’s top pace, the $40,000 Open-Preferred Handicap, Eddie Davis Jr. hustled Immortal Quest N away from the gait quickly to ward off Western Ace and Jim Morand for the lead and then cut out the rest of the fractions on the way to an impressive 1:51.2 victory. The win was the third in four starts and fifth in his last seven outings for the Sands A Flyin gelding owned by Carter Racing Stable and trainer Bobby Myers. Dave Panlone shadowed the winner from the start and David Miller drove him to a second-place finish. Fox Valley Armor and Yannick Gingras closed fast to finish third. The victory pushed Immortal Quest N’s earnings since Jan. 1 to $111,470.

Teague Inc.’s Mr. Apples took no prisoners en route to a 1:51.1 front pacing victory in the $37,500 Delaware Special. It was the fourth win of the season and second in his last three in this event with Jim Morand handling the reins. Thin Blue Line and Yannick Gingras came on to finish second in front of Art Director and Brian Sears. The win boosted Mr. Apples’ earnings to $113,575 for his 10 seasonal races.

In the $28,000 Jr. Open pace, WJ McDougall’s Richard Henry N battled Chewy Gross and Eric Goodell to the finish line in 1:51.3 with David Miller driving the winner. PH Top teamed with Yannick Gingras to finish third. .

Eoos, owned by Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta, responded to Brian Sears urging to win a $24,000 Winners-Over pace in 1:51.4. Marchand and Ross Wolfenden closed with a rush for place in front of Art’s Son and Tim Tetrick.

Dylan Davis’ owned and trained Kass Hall notched a 1:51.1 score in a $23,000 Winners-Over pace. It was the Blissfull Hall four-year-old’s second straight win and fourth in his last five starts. Northern Scholar finished second for Brandon Givens while Eric Goodell drove Heavenly Flight to a third.

Village Blitz made the winner’s circle for the first time this year as Eric Goodell sent the Village Jiffy gelding along the passing lane to score a 1:53.1 victory in a $21,000 Male pace. White Hot Cards raced the last three quarters first over for Ron Pierce and held on for second overtaking Dream Rocket and Tony Morgan in the stretch.

In a second $21,000 section, Yannick Gingras took Tamara Williams’ Whistle Bear right to the front and the Armbro Operative gelding was never headed in a 1:52.3 performance. Uncle Bingo took a shot at the leader on the final turn but could no closer than a length at the wire. Maximum Viking and Jim Morand were third.

Tim Tetrick, Brain Sears and David Miller each drove three winners each while Yannick Gingras had two wins. Dylan Davis and Chuck Crissman posted training doubles while Three Point Acres had two owner wins.

DOVER, DE — Grinfrombeertobeer chalked up a win in the $23,800 Delaware Winners-Over pace and Boots Place came on strong to take the $16,500 3,4&5-Year-Old Mares pace headliners on Sunday, March 16 at Dover Downs.

Warren Racing Stable and Dylan Davis’ Grinfrombeertobeer broke into the win column for the first time this year as Tony Morgan guided the six-year-old gelding to victory in 1:53.2 to win the $23,800 feature. Jennaration finished a strong second beaten a head with Roger Plante driving. Cool Flying Fun made a big move for Corey Callahan along the backstretch and was a contender the rest of the way but had to settle for third.

In the $16,500 distaff feature, Tim Tetrick put Bernie Segebade’s Boots Place into high gear racing sixth at the three-quarters and rushed four-wide around the final turn to overhaul front-pacing Make Amends (Tony Morgan) in deep stretch for a 1:56.4 score. It was the Park Place sophomore’s first local start since arriving from Chicago.

Meet leading driver Tony Morgan shot the passing lane with Zaca Rules to overtake race favorite Mimi’s Tyler (Ross Wolfenden) for a 1:55.2 victory in a $12,000 pace for young Delaware males. Bad Affair (George Dennis) took show money. Melody Wright owns and trains Zaca Rules, a first-time winner this year.

Morgan drove Pam Polk’s Wynnfield Scamp to victory in an $11,000 Male pace. The Run The Table six-year-old battled Devil’s Ivy down the stretch to score a 1:53.2 win by a head. Come Holme With Me (Mike Cole) was the show finisher.

Jonathan Roberts pulled Bobby Glassmeyer’s Art’s Sake from last at the quarter and followed double-cover moving up on the outside until the final turn. The Artsplace gelding then sailed three wide into the stretch and roared past leader Fully Exotic (Brandon Givens) in deep stretch for a 1:54.2 victory in the $25,000 Claiming pace. The Aussie Fighter (Vic Kirby) rolled down the lane to finish third.

Jason Skinner and Susan Ehlers’ Four Starzzz Favor scored a 1:54.1 triumph to take the $20,000 claimer with Corey Callahan handling the reins. Jason William N (Tony Morgan) was runner-up. BJ’s Breeze (Roger Plante) took third.

Tony Morgan added to his 2008 leading total now at 189 wins with four trips to the winner’s circle. Jim Morand, George Dennis and Corey Callahan had driving doubles.

FT. WASHINGTON, MD –Nick Hans, an 18-year-old Maryland native, earned his first victory in the sulky at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday evening, guiding Art Hearted [$3.00, $2.10, $2.10] through an impressive mile in 1:58.3.

Hans drove the four-year-old Artiscape horse off of the gate to sit through an opening quarter of 29.1 comfortably along the rail. Before hitting the half-mile marker, Hans tipped Art Hearted out second-over through fractions of 59.1 and 1:28.2. Art Hearted, trained and owned by Roger Hans, took the lead in the stretch to win by two lengths.

Tisza Hanover [$3.00, $2.10] finished second after pacing first-over with trainer Alvin Lineweaver in the bike. The three-year-old Western Hanover filly is co-owned by Alvin and Ron Lineweaver.

Nights Wheeler [$3.40], driven by Justin Brenneman for trainer Darryle Dennis finished third to close out the $28.20 trifecta at 27/1 odds. Lisa Russo owns the five-year-old daughter of Arturo.
