Elaine T Cronos takes Rosecroft Open pace; Milby wins five on Saturday
Owned, trained and driven by Luis Porfilio, the seven-year-old Viking Terror horse sat in third along the rail through a swift opening fraction of 27.4. SA Monterosa [$2.60] finished third after making up nearly seven lengths throughout the race. Driven by Alvin Lineweaver for trainer Thomas Swann, the seven-year-old gelded son of The Panderosa fired home with a 27.4 last quarter. Lois Swann owns the pacer, and the trifecta returned $42.60.
Driver Frank Milby won five of 13 races on Saturday; his first victory came in race three with pacer HB Gee. The nine-year-old Displain gelding went gate-to-wire for trainer Alvin Callahan, stopping the timer in 1:57.2.
Admiral’s Scooter won the fourth race with a wire-to-wire trip in 1:58.1. The 11-year-old Admirals Galley gelding, trained by Jason Walters, won by a length and a half.
Milby took pacer Whiskey Walt to the winner’s circle in the seventh race. The eight-year-old Walton
In the 11th race, Hawaiian Flyer led a field of pacers to a 1:57.3 victory for trainer Kelly Foskett. The seven-year-old Falcon Seelster gelding was bet down to the overwhelming favorite by post time.
In the 12th race, Imperious sat in the pocket to score by a head in 1:54.3. Trained by Roger Hans, the six-year-old Glowing Tribute gelding was sharp as the 2/1 betting favorite.
